Hot pipe bender

Hot pipe bender places an induction coil around the tube or pipe and applies a bending force as the object passes through the heated coil.
It is then heated to between 800 and 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit (430 and 1,200 ??C). While the pipe is hot, pressure is placed on the pipe to bend it. The pipe is then quenched with either air or water spray. Hot pipe bender is used on large pipes such as freeway signs, power plants, and petroleum pipe lines etc.

Hot pipe bender is an efficient way to form a bend when only a specific area of a metal tube or pipe requires a bend. That specific area is usually heated with the use of an induction coil in order to make the material easier to bend to a preset radius.

Process tip for Hot pipe bender

Originally used for the purpose of surface hardening steels, induction technology consists basically of an induction coil placed around the pipe to be bent. The induction coil heats a narrow, circumferential section of the pipe to a temperature of between 850 and 1100 degrees Celsius (dependant on the material to be formed). As the correct bending temperature range is reached, the pipe is moved slowly through the induction coil whilst the bending force is applied by a fixed radius arm arrangement."Turn arm bending machine" was taking a steel pipe with a turn arm cramp.

After bending occurs, the heated area is quenched by a water or air spray.
